Anti-Spam Policy
Last Updated: September 04, 2026
Top Temp Mail maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against spam. We are committed to ensuring that our temporary email service is used responsibly and does not contribute to the global spam problem. This Anti-Spam Policy outlines our stance, preventive measures, and enforcement actions.
1. Our Zero-Tolerance Position
We condemn all forms of unsolicited electronic messaging. Top Temp Mail is designed exclusively as a receive-only temporary email service. By architectural design, our service does not allow users to send, reply to, or forward emails. This fundamental restriction eliminates the possibility of our platform being used to distribute spam.
2. What Constitutes Spam
For the purposes of this policy, "spam" includes but is not limited to:
- Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE): Promotional or marketing messages sent without the explicit consent of the recipient.
- Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE): Any email sent in large quantities to recipients who did not request it, regardless of content.
- Phishing Emails: Messages designed to deceive recipients into revealing personal information, credentials, or financial data.
- Malware Distribution: Emails containing or linking to viruses, trojans, spyware, ransomware, or other malicious software.
- Chain Letters & Pyramid Schemes: Messages encouraging recipients to forward content to others for financial gain or under false pretenses.
- Spoofing & Impersonation: Emails that falsify sender information to deceive recipients about the origin of the message.
3. How We Prevent Spam Abuse
We have implemented multiple layers of protection to prevent our service from being exploited:
3.1 Receive-Only Architecture
The most critical anti-spam measure: no outbound email capability exists. Users cannot compose, send, reply to, or forward any emails through Top Temp Mail. This architectural decision makes it physically impossible to send spam using our service.
3.2 Rate Limiting & Throttling
We enforce strict rate limits on email address generation and inbox queries to prevent automated abuse. Excessive requests from a single source are automatically throttled and may result in temporary or permanent IP bans.
3.3 Automated Abuse Detection
Our systems monitor for patterns consistent with abuse, including:
- Rapid generation of multiple email addresses
- Bot-like behavior patterns (automated scraping, headless browser abuse)
- Attempts to use our service for account creation fraud on third-party platforms
3.4 Ephemeral Data Policy
All temporary email data is automatically purged after session expiration. This means even if spam emails are received by a temporary address, they are never permanently stored on our servers, preventing our infrastructure from becoming a repository for spam content.
4. Prohibited Uses Related to Spam
Users of Top Temp Mail are strictly prohibited from:
- Using temporary addresses to sign up for services with the intent to abuse, spam, or harass those services
- Using temporary addresses to create fake accounts for spam bot networks
- Using our service to collect, harvest, or compile email addresses for spamming purposes
- Attempting to modify, reverse-engineer, or bypass our anti-abuse protections
- Using our API (if available) for automated mass address generation intended for abuse
5. CAN-SPAM Act Compliance
Although Top Temp Mail does not send commercial email, we fully support and comply with the principles of the CAN-SPAM Act (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing Act of 2003), including:
- Transparency in all communications
- Honest representation of our service and its purpose
- Prompt response to any abuse reports
6. GDPR & International Anti-Spam Regulations
We also respect and align with international anti-spam regulations including:
- GDPR (EU): General Data Protection Regulation requirements for electronic communications
- CASL (Canada): Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation
- Spam Act 2003 (Australia): Australian anti-spam requirements
- PECR (UK): Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations
7. Reporting Abuse
If you believe our service is being used for spam-related activities or any form of abuse, we encourage you to report it immediately. When reporting abuse, please include:
- The temporary email address involved (if known)
- A description of the abuse or spam activity
- Any supporting evidence (screenshots, email headers, timestamps)
We take all abuse reports seriously and will investigate promptly. Confirmed violations will result in immediate blocking of the offending source.
8. Enforcement Actions
Upon identification or report of spam-related abuse, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Immediate IP Ban: Blocking the offending IP address or IP range from accessing the Service
- Session Termination: Immediately destroying all active sessions associated with the violation
- Permanent Blacklisting: Adding the source to our permanent deny list
- Law Enforcement Referral: Reporting severe violations (e.g., phishing, fraud, malware distribution) to the appropriate legal authorities
- Third-Party Notification: Cooperating with affected third-party services to mitigate damage caused by abuse
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Anti-Spam Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
